Associate Professor Ondřej Svaček, member of our Centre, took part in a high-profile moderated discussion on Czech Television’s acclaimed historical programme Historie.cs.

The episode, entitled How to Judge Evil?, focused on the legacy of the Nuremberg Trials and the broader challenges of post-war justice. Alongside Prof. Svaček, the panel featured Vladimír Dzuro, former investigator for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), and Jiří Plachý, historian at the Military History Institute.

The discussion explored the origins of the idea to prosecute Nazi leadership for war crimes, the significance of the Nuremberg Trials for the development of international law, and how the principles established there continue to shape the evolution of international criminal justice today.
