CIHOL and the 91st Information Warfare Group Join Forces on Information Warfare Training
The Centre for International Humanitarian and Operational Law (CIHOL) has recently established a new partnership with the 91st Information Warfare Group of the Czech Armed Forces. This promising cooperation has already brought concrete results: students attending the ongoing Summer School on the Use of Force in International Law had the opportunity to directly benefit from it through a unique and interactive training day.
Soldiers and members of the unit’s active reserve designed and conducted a dynamic programme that introduced students to the fundamentals of information operations, methods of countering disinformation, and current trends in the information environment. Participants were also given the chance to explore selected military equipment used by the unit.
Importantly, students were challenged to engage actively: they were tasked with analysing a simulated information threat and preparing a situation report for the commander, aimed at countering a false narrative.
The entire event took place with the personal participation of the commander, col. Ivo Zelinka. This initiative represents another tangible outcome of the growing cooperation between CIHOL and the 91st Information Warfare Group. By integrating academic knowledge with practical insights from the operational information domain, this collaboration allows for the development of realistic scenarios that help students better grasp the complexities of modern conflicts and the role of information warfare in shaping them.
